Abstract
PURPOSE: To describe the translation and validation of the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) Use Questionnaire. METHODS: The NIC Use Questionnaire was translated to Korean using back-translation and three criteria to test the semantic, content, and technical equivalence of the original and translated version. FINDINGS: Three factors made translation difficult including structural differences in the two languages, long modifier phrases in English, and nonequivalent words in Korean. CONCLUSIONS: This translation facilitates communication among nurses. The findings suggest a method for similar validation in other languages.
