Abstract
Responses of the TRH microinjections into the pre-Bötzinger complex of adult anesthetised rats involved a dose-dependent increase in respiratory rate as well as shortening of inspiratory and expiratory duration. The tidal volume and inspiratory muscles' activity decreased following high concentrations of the TRH. The heart rate did not change. The findings suggest that the pre-Bötzinger complex is at least partly responsible for the TRH tachypnoic effect.Entities:
