CT and MR presentation of acute hemorrhage in a spinal schwannoma.

Abstract

We present a case of a 58-year-old woman who experienced the sudden onset of a deteriorating paraparesis after physical exertion. Pathologic specimens revealed that an intracystic hemorrhage existed within a spinal schwannoma. The radiologic presentation of the intracystic hemorrhage on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is described.
