Abstract
This article discusses the problem of euthanasia presenting the case of an 82-year-old man with progressive dementia. Difficulties encountered during daily clinical work are described and analysed, in order to clarify decisions on ethical, legal and professional medical grounds. General decisions concerning life-sustaining measures may be qualitatively improved if the situation of the individual is constantly assessed and considered within the treatment process.Entities:
