Abstract
The international discussion on physician-assisted dying as well as the recent development in North Australia and Oregon point to a growing tendency to favour assisted suicide as against killing on request--last not least for reasons of public acceptance. The decision of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands in a case of suicide assisted by a psychiatrist gives the opportunity to discuss the problem from the psychiatric point of view.Entities:
