Progress report: 1998 NATIONAL TRACS/ABA Burn Registry and related activities.

G P McDonald-Smith1.

Abstract

1998 should prove to be a milestone year for the ABA, with the development of Version 2 of the NATIONAL TRACS/ABA Burn Registry software and the expansion of the NBR. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate as many of the suggestions for modifications to the software as possible, within the time line associated with this project. The software will be rigorously tested during the developmental phase so that ABA burn centers should have an upgraded version that is virtually free of problems. Clinical and administrative improvements will be made in the Burn Standard Reports to improve their usefulness for Burn Committee meetings and the Burn Verification Program. Strong efforts will be made to expand the NBR, which will include grow to include burn data from both TRACS and non-TRACS Burn Registry users.
