Prosthetic valve endocarditis due to Mycobacterium chelonei.

Abstract

Starr-Edwards mitral and aortic prosthetic valves served as nidi for endocarditis due to M chelonei. Cultural, physiologic, lipid chromatographic, and serologic studies identified the organism as M chelonei (abscessus).
