Abstract
Biliary changes secondary to portal hypertension are uncommon. These patients do not usually present clinical or biochemical evidence of cholestasis. This report describes one case of obstructive jaundice due to portal cavernoma. The obstructive jaundice appeared in adulthood in a patient who had developed the portal cavernoma during childhood. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography allowed both the diagnosis and the palliative treatment of the stenosis of the common bile duct, avoiding risky surgical treatment.Entities:
