The role of estrogen in the prevention of osteoporosis.

Abstract

This article reviews the role and pathophysiology of estrogen in bone remodeling. The effects of estrogen intervention on bone mass and biochemical markers are discussed as well as aspects such as dose versus response, route of administration, and interactions with other agents.
