Homicide in acute porphyria.

Abstract

The subject was a young man known to suffer from the intermittent (Swedish) form of this disorder, who committed homicide in an acute attack of porphyria and who died from the disease 7 days later. The family history and clinical features of the acute attack are reported. The paper includes a brief review of the literature, with reference to the psychiatric features of acute porphyria.
