Acute suppurative cholangitis secondary to calcific pancreatitis.

Abstract

In the absence of calculi or carcinoma, the occurrence of acute suppurative cholangitis secondary to calcific pancreatitis is extremely rare. This report describes the successful management of acute suppurative cholangitis by surgical decompression and use of a new aminoglycoside, amikacin.
