Abstract
Classically, the agent of the sporadic skin leishmaniasis in Northern Algeria is Leishmania infantum MON-24. This paper reports the first documented observation of localized cutaneous leishmaniasis due to Leishmania infantum zymodeme MON-1 in Northern Algeria. The interest of using the Western blot serological analysis to guide the diagnosis and the usefulness of the hamster inoculation to isolate Leishmania from pauciparasitized lesion is demonstrated.Entities:
