Principles of organization of a neonatal intensive care unit from scratch.

C J Richardson.

Abstract

This discussion has dealt with major principles to be considered when planning and organizing an infant special care unit. However, there remains one very important principle in the organization of any such unit: the job is never complete. As concepts and practices relative to care of the high-risk neonate change, so must organization of any unit delivering this care be modified and reorganized.
