Abstract
A 38-year-old man underwent pericardiectomy because of effusive-constrictive pericarditis. The gadolinium-diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) enhanced magnetic resonance imaging showed pericardial thickening separate from the effusion, which could not be shown by unenhanced computed tomography. Gd-DTPA enhanced magnetic resonance imaging could be useful for the early detection of effusive-constrictive pericarditis.Entities:
