Abstract
Although infrequent, idiopathic perforation of the colon in the newborn is a surgical emergency. Etiology remains obscure. Diagnosis of a pneumoperitoneum, prompt operative intervention, and the use of antibiotic therapy are essential to the survival of these infants.Entities:
