Abstract
An unusual Salter type 2 fracture of the distal phalanx is described. The metaphyseal fragment of the fracture consisted of a long and thin plate of bone corresponding to the insertion site of the flexor digitorum profundus tendon. Differences between this combined fracture and the isolated mallet deformity or flexor profundus tendon avulsion fracture are discussed.Entities:
