Abstract
This article explores the process of pattern recognition, contained within Newman's theory of health as expanding consciousness, as a nursing intervention with adults with ovarian cancer. The process of the nurse-client interactive pattern revealed four nonlinear phases: the client-nurse mutual concern, pattern recognition, vision and action potential, and transformation. Most participants found meaning in their lives and experienced personal growth in expanding consciousness.Entities:
