Abstract
The purpose of this pictorial review is to demonstrate the imaging features of a range of cranial injuries associated with birth at term. Scalp and skull injuries include simple cephalhaematoma, osteomyelitis of the skull vault from infected cephalhaematoma, subgaleal haemorrhage and skull fracture. Intracranial injuries include extradural, subdural and subarachnoid haemorrhage, leptomeningeal cyst and brain infarct. Radiologists need to be aware of the range of cranial injuries following birth and their differentiating features.Entities:
