Abstract
Industrial quality management has taught that costs are not induced by high quality but by non-quality. The medical literature suggests that this might also hold true in medicine and furthermore reveals factors directed concurrently at lowering costs and at increasing quality: These include personal and institutional case load, implementation of guide lines supported by information technology as well as innovative organizational structures and principles of reimbursement.Mesh:
