[Infected decubitus ulcer].

H Menke1.

Abstract

The treatment of pressure sores, which have a high incidence in hospital patients, is a long standing problem. Pathogenesis, treatment modalities and the results, including long-term follow-up, are discussed. The value of a step-by-step concept is emphasized, starting with simple procedures like local flap rotation up to musculocutaneous flaps. Furthermore, the reconstructive options, especially in patients with pressure sores of the sacral and ischial region, are presented.
