Abstract
1. Germline chimaeric chickens were produced by the transfer of primordial germ cells, and the generation of donor-derived offspring was examined for a maximum of 146 weeks. 2. The frequencies of donor-derived offspring from the chimaeras were 47% to 97%, and no apparent changes in frequency were observed with increasing age during the test period. 3. Differentiation of donor primordial germ cells into functional gametes appeared to be restricted to a degree at some developmental stage in the gonads of chimaeric chickens of the opposite sex.Entities:
