Abstract
A 930 gm premature infant had Staphylococcal endocarditis with a tricuspid valvular vegetation that was unresponsive to antibiotics and not amenable to resection. Infusion of tissue plasminogen activator over a 3-day period completely lysed the vegetation. The infection cleared with continued antibiotics, and the infant recovered without sequelae.Entities:
