A law concerning sex reassignment of transsexuals in Sweden.

Abstract

In 1972, a law regulating surgical and legal measures reguired for sex reassignment came into force in Sweden. The law, its practical application, and the number of transsexual cases dealt with by the National Board of Health and Welfare during the first 2 years of enforcement are described.
