A rapid method for the preparation of single-cell suspensions from solid tissues.

N P Singh1.

Abstract

A simple and rapid methodology for the preparation of single-cell suspension from animal tissues is described. It uses a device called a "tissue press" to mince the tissue into small pieces of desired sizes which are then dissociated into single cells using a pipette. The device is inexpensive and the method economizes time and labor. An example of its use in DNA double-strand breaks study, using microgel electrophoresis, is described.
