Abstract
Hepatic cryotherapy has emerged as a viable therapeutic option in the treatment of liver tumors, both primary and secondary. We will provide the experimental basis for its application in the liver with particular reference to safety and efficacy issues. Also discussed are experiments with the use of hepatic cryotherapy in animals that have demonstrated the effectiveness of the technique, and improvements in technology that have enabled better delivery. The future of this modality looks bright with increasing advances in technology to enable better application. Its use in combination with other treatment modalities could offer improved success in treating liver tumors.Entities:
