Abstract
Actin and actin-binding proteins have been identified in eukaryotic organisms across the evolutionary spectrum. Although many actin-binding proteins have been purified and studied in vitro, our understanding of the in vivo functions of these proteins has, until recently, lagged behind. In the past year, in vivo studies, especially those using genetic approaches, have led to significant advances in our understanding of how actin-binding proteins function in a cellular environment.Mesh:
