Abstract
O-Hydroxyhippuric acid has been identified in the urine of a number of sick children who were not receiving salicylate-containing drugs. Characterisation was effected by thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography and by gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. An association between gastro-intestinal dysfunction and the excretion of o-hydroxyhippuric acid was observed in approximately 50% of the patients who excreted this substance.Entities:
