Abstract
In patients participating in the Scandinavian Simvastatin Survival Study, cholesterol lowering with simvastatin reduced the incidence of carotid bruits and cerebrovascular events as well as new-onset or worsening of angina pectoris and intermittent claudication. These effects suggest that simvastatin may have a general antiatherosclerotic effect not limited to the coronary bed.Entities:
