[Comparative x-ray and ultrasound examination in infantile sinusitis (author's transl)].

59 children without symptoms of sinusitis or URI, aged 6 to 8 years had positive radiologica findings of sinus pathology in 32%. Correspond ultrasonographic findings were positive in 22%. A correlation was detected in 67,8%. In non correlating cases, x-ray had a tendency to more pathological findings in 63%. When correlating x-ray and ultrasound in a diagram of 118 maxillary sinuses only 6% had changes worth treatable. The classical radiological signs os sinusitis in children are therefore questionable.
