Abstract
Despite the power of bacterial genetics, the prokaryotic cell cycle has remained poorly understood. But recent work with three different bacterial species has shed light on how chromosomes and plasmids are oriented and partitioned during the cell cycle, and on mechanisms regulating the initiation of DNA replication.Entities:
