Abstract
A procedure for the measurement of free erythrocyte protoporphyrin (FEP) in a drop of blood collected on filter paper is described. The method is useful as a screening test for lead poisoning in children. Based on the FEP finding and blood lead tests, asymptomatic children are classified into four major categories.
