Abstract
The efficiencies of an enzyme method and the sodium hypochlorite method in hatching eggs of Taenia solium (Henan strain) were compared. The viability of the hatched oncospheres was determined by staining with trypan blue. For the former method, the hatching rate and viability percentage were 85.7% and 79.7%, respectively. The corresponding figures for the latter method were 97.9% and 86.7%, respectively. These findings indicate that the sodium hypochlorite method is a simple, efficient and practical method for hatching eggs of Taenia solium.Entities:
