Abstract
Vancomycin-resistant enterococci have spread widely throughout the United States. Mechanisms of glycopeptide resistance are understood to a significant extent. These organisms are associated with considerable morbidity. Treatment options are limited, and control of their spread requires considerable effort and results in increased costs.Entities:
