Abstract
During endoscopic retrograde cholangiography, common bile duct strictures are encountered in up to 30% of patients with chronic pancreatitis. The indications for treatment of these strictures are discussed. A surgical biliodigestive anastomosis has always been the traditional treatment modality. Not all patients need treatment, however, and endoscopic biliary drainage is the treatment of choice for certain subgroups of patients.Entities:
