Abstract
Fc gammaRIII (CD16) expression on the surfaces of polymorphonuclear neutrophils was significantly reduced in human immunodeficiency virus type 1-seropositive patients with pulmonary tuberculosis compared to that in individuals with either disease alone or in healthy blood donors. This downregulation of Fc gammaRIII may contribute to the enhanced susceptibility of coinfected individuals to opportunistic infections.Entities:
