P Melgarejo Moreno1, D Hellín Messeguer.

Abstract

Necrotizing fasciitis is a rare but serious infection of subcutaneous tissue and deep fascia with resulting skin gangrene and septicaemia. Compute tomography (CT) seems to play a role in completing the clinical suspicion, especially in those case in which the disease does not manifest itself with subcutaneous crepitus or emphysema. Condition's causation reminded unknown and the microbial culture showed members of Streptococcus milleri genus.
