Abstract
Henoch-Schönlein purpura is the most common vasculitis in children. It is frequently preceded by either viral or bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract. We present a 15-year-old female who developed recurrent episodes of Henoch-Schönlein purpura. Eventual investigation of the patient's abdominal pain, initially attributed to vasculitis involving the gastrointestinal tract, revealed a left tubo-ovarian abscess caused by Morganella morganii. Salpingo-oophorectomy resulted in complete remission of the disease process.Entities:
