Abstract
Anaesthesia for abdominal surgery in a patient with carcinoid syndrome is reported. Pre-operative symptomatic improvement was obtained using cyproheptadine hydrochloride. Handling of the tumour and liver metastases, during surgery, produced signs of excess serotonin secretion which responded to intravenous methotrimeprazine.Entities:
