From motivation to action: understanding nurses' political involvement.

Nurses comprise the largest group of health care provides in the nation, but few are in positions to definitively influence public health policy. If the nursing profession is to meet the challenges of the 21st century, political action is necessary, and an understanding of the factors that motivate or impede political action is needed.
