Abstract
The complete Escherichia coli genome sequence is now known; it should greatly facilitate the analysis of other genomes, but a lot remains to be learnt about E. coli itself. About half the genes were previously uncharacterized, but expanding databases and improving analysis methods will help predict their functions.Entities:
