Reduction of porphyrin excretion in porphyria variegata by propranolol. A case report.

Abstract

DL-Propranolol was shown to reduce the elevated urinary excretion of porphyrins and their precursors in a patient with variegate porphyria and to improve the patient's symptoms during attacks of the disease.
