Abstract
Twenty-three patients with previously treated medulloblastoma had brain scintigrams revealed posterior fossa recurrence in 15 patients and supratentorial metastases in 9; only 1 of the latter was clinically suspected. Two subdural hematomas and one calvarial metastasis were also detected. Comparison with other diagnostic evidence shows agreement in 13 out of 14 cases (93%) for posterior fossa recurrence and 8/10 (80%) for supratentiorial masses. Brain scintigraphy appears to be a sensitive and specific test for the detection of recurrence and metastasis in patients with treated medulloblastoma.Entities:
