Case management and Mexican-American elders.

S Alemán1.

Abstract

This article describes four levels of assimilation of elderly Mexican-Americans that may assist social workers to deliver culturally sensitive case management services. This delivery can be better achieved if social workers recognize the client's level of assimilation and develop case management plans based on this information. Descriptions of the prototype and its use are provided. The prototype can also be used to sensitize social workers to subtle differences that exist in many clients who identify themselves as being members of a minority group.
