Abstract
Consumer empowerment is a complex issue especially when people with learning disabilities are involved. The word 'empowerment' is ambivalent, implying vulnerability on the part of the client. Those who apparently need to be empowered are those who often cannot be. This article explores these contradictions in relation to people with a learning disability.Entities:
