Abstract
A study at one medical center showed that nurses were spending 2.5 hours per shift documenting patient care. After charting by exception was integrated with a clinical pathway, charting time dropped to 0.82 hours per shift. Results of a pilot project on an orthopedic/neurologic patient care unit are discussed.Entities:
