Abstract
Hypertension is one of the major risk factors for coronary artery disease. This risk is considerably magnified by the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy. The likeliest dominant factor in this increased risk is myocardial ischaemia, the recognition of which is of key importance. Antihypertensive agents ideally should also protect against occurrence of the clinical syndromes associated with coronary artery disease.Entities:
