Abstract
Eosinophilic folliculitis is a common cause of morbidity in patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and a marker of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). No causative organism has yet been identified, although an aberrant Th2-type immune response to a follicular antigen appears relevant to pathogenesis. A variety of treatments have been reported to minimize the inflammatory component, relieve the concomitant pruritus, and/or favorably alter the cutaneous microenvironment.Entities:
