Arthroscopic absence of the long head of the biceps tendon.

P P Mariani1, A Bellelli, C Botticella.

Abstract

Absence of the long head of the biceps tendon was detected during arthroscopic evaluation of shoulder pain in a weight-lifter. Magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound showed the presence of a hypoplastic tendon with altered depth and width of the bicipital groove. The tendon-glenoid insertion shown by magnetic resonance imaging was apparently normal.
