Abstract
As a complication of immunosuppressive therapy, solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients have an increased risk of developing post transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD). Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and the degree of immunosuppression have been identified as risk factors for the development of this complication. The clinical presentation includes a spectrum of disorders ranging from a benign infectious mononucleosis-like syndrome with fever and cervical adenopathy to multiorgan failure leading to death. Although, T-cell lesions have been described, PTLD is usually associated with a polyclonal or monoclonal B-cell proliferation. In this report, we present a renal transplant recipient with a perirenal mass diagnosed as PTLD.Entities:
