N Cawley1.

Abstract

This review examines 14 research studies which have been undertaken to evaluate massage. The review offers a critique of the methodology of these studies, and issues relating to the research design, samples, measurement tools, analysis and the massage intervention are discussed. The critique highlights several key issues relating to the design of the studies and concludes with some recommendations for future research studies evaluating massage.
